Tatek Janez is the present master of the homestead Pr’Gavedarjo in Podkoren, he is a dedicated environmentalist, a protector of Zelenci (the source of the river Sava Dolinka) and an ardent supporter of organic bee keeping. The room with onehundred years old paintings is his favorite room, after his biological Himalayan expedition in 1972 he kept his mementos in it and at that time the room became know as »the Indian room«.
Marija came to the homestead as a young bride, the furniture in the room was part of her dowry. She was exceptionally gentle and kind, always ready to help her neighbours.
Aunt Silva always had a smile on her face and was in robust health, she spend a significant part of her life at the homestead. She was a classmate of mother Marija and was hired to help the grandmother. She stayed at the homestead for many years and represented to us a grandma, whom we have never known.
For years, grandpa Franc was the owner and husbandman of the homestead Pr’ Gavedarjo. He managed to maintain it and save it from the ruin.
A simple room with a touch of homeliness is dedicated to Jakat, a servant who helped on our farm for all the years of his life.
Martina loves to travel with respect for nature and local heritage, which is what inspired her to renovate the homestead in line with the principles of ecological heritage. More recently, she added additional attic rooms to meet high demand. The room is equipped with oil-treated furniture and offers carefree relaxation, all brought together by the peerless textiles of renowned Slovenian designer Almira Sadar.
The youngest generation of our family bears the surname Žvan, and they give their name to both our classic family attic rooms. In addition to a king-size bed, there is also a fold-out couch bed suitable for younger visitors.
